IN CASE YOU MISSED IT!

Last November I was interviewed by Guardian journalist Tom Lamont in a cafe in the South Yorkshire village of Penistone. The placename set the tone for our chat - the article is a great read, taking in geography, history and a healthy dose of scatological road signs.

I certainly wasn't expecting to be declared "the Indiana Jones of his field", but after 20 years at the coalface of great British placenames I've definitely earned that tag!
